Brief Introduction

As one of the colleges under Hebei University of Economics and Business, College of Tourism, with a history of 28 years, was organized out of the major of hotel management that was started in 1987. Following the motto of “Diligence, Pragmatism, Entrepreneurship and Morality”, the College of Tourism focuses on cultivating a whole person in its teaching, and adheres to the principle of cultivating “grand touring” talents and the tenet of “superior and featured” education. Considering the practicality and application of tourism, the college works closely with touring companies to improve the practical teaching. Striving to enhance the students’ sense of social responsibility, innovation, and practical skills, it intends to provide the public with high-quality management talents with international perspective and strategic thinking.

Currently, the college offers teaching for graduate and undergraduate students (MA in tourism management, BA in tourism management, hotel management and conference & exhibition economy and management). There are 1,500 students and so far over 7000 graduates have been supplied to the society. As one of the key disciplines in the university, tourism management in 2012 was evaluated as the pilot unit for the comprehensive reform of specialties in Hebei Province.

College of Tourism is actively promoting the cooperation with enterprises and so far has set up the joint-cultivation mechanism with renowned corporate groups, large touring companies, and specialized conference and exhibition companies, and established practice-oriented teaching base in China Huayou Group Company and Hilton Group, which play a positive role in improving the teaching quality, students’ practical skills and their employment.
